The Easiest Cake recipe

Someone sent this recipe to me years ago, and it's always turned out moist, flavorful, and delicious.

Take a box of cake mix, a can of pie filling, and 3 eggs. Throw it all in your mixer and mix. Bake according to cake box directions. YUM!!!

I like devil's food chocolate with cherry pie filling, lemon with cherry pie filling, yellow cake with strawberry pie filling, chocolate with apple pie filling. . seriously, you CANNOT go wrong here. And it has ALWAYS turned out wonderful! I get compliments on it every time I make it! So there's my secret. Enjoy.

  2. Your recipe sounds so yummy. I think I'm going to have to try it this weekend with Addie. We're having a breakfast at church. Which flavor would work best for a breakfast? What size pan works the best?

Also do you have the recipe for our Aunt Gail's pineapple dump cake, where you put all the stuff in a pan and then bake? I'd like to try that too for church.

  3. Hmm. . for breakfast. . . I would definitely go with a fruity pie filling, as opposed to poppy seed or chocolate silk, kwim? I think I'd avoid chocolate, too. .. perhaps lemon cake with cherry?

I use a deep dish baker from The Pampered Chef. But I think any size would be okay, as long as it corresponds with the back of the box for baking directions.

I don't have Gail's recipe. If you get it, pass it on, k?

It was very moist and people loved it, but the color turned people off initially, but once they tasted it (I did lemon cake mix and cherry pie filling. It tastes better the next day after being in the fridge too! thanks for the idea

  5. Ok let me redo the last comment. Everyone at church loved the cake once they tasted it. It's now day 2 after baking it, and I have it in the fridge and it is SOOO good! I have it cut in small pieces so that I can savor it!

  6. My friend Krista just tried it with Devil's food cake and blueberries and said it was delicious! She also calculated that one serving is 5 points for Weight Watchers, which is great!
    thanks for sharing.
